Thoughts

Gutted. Rubbish timing, Len, departing like this. Although our friendship has only been for 6 years, nothing really, compare to some people on here sharing their thoughts, it has meant a lot to me. You have been generous in sharing your knowledge, wisdom, time and humour. You have been faithful and considerate to a fault. We didn't agree on everything, but we worked out how to encourage one another in so many areas of life that we shared a passion for - running (regular Strava kudos messages), DIY - sharing ideas, Boaz construction projects where you worked so wonderfully with Neil along with members who lined up for a chance to work with "the master craftsman" Len...and the list could go on. As I shared at your funeral, I hope to embody many of the great ways that you taught me to approach life. Thank you.

Dear Len. You wrote a long letter a year ago inside your Christmas card 2020 explaining how you were coping with lockdown through walking, running, gardening of course and even getting to know new people at a difficult time. Unusual for you to write your thoughts down but there you were: honest, generous, philosophical yet down- to -earth, deeply appreciative of life in spite of setbacks, looking to the future with optimism and of course your humour shone through. We will miss you Len and that smile as wide and broad as the sky from the mountain peaks you climbed. RIP. Patsy and Terry.
